The Accident Man is a "what if" scenario based on a real life event. I won't spoil that here because it was quite a shocker. So shocking, in fact, that I was jolted back to reality and almost gave up the book then and there. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to engross myself back in the story but I didn't give up. I moved on and was treated to a fairly decent thriller. While he couldn't take Jason Bourne in a fight, Sam Carver is a formidable spy in his own right and his flaws and insecurities drive the book towards its somewhat satisfying conclusion. (5/9/2009)
Positives: The writer played tricks on us where we see scenes from one perspective and quickly find out in the next chapter that things weren't quite what they seemed. It was an interesting style.
Negatives: At times, this felt like a total ripoff of the Bourne series.
