Big Bang Theory: Season 1

This show focuses on 4 nerds who love their comic books as much as they do their science and what happens to their world when an attractive single girl moves in across the hall. I think those that will find this entertaining are people who can relate to the comic book lingo, the scientific jargon, or know someone who falls into either of those categories. In other words, pretty much everyone who is reading this right now. (4/30/2010)
Positives: I love the characters. You've got Sheldon, who really makes the show. He's a certified genious who has no idea how to act in society b/c he was always so advanced. Sure he's over the top from time to time with his rants, but that's who he is supposed to be. Next you've got Leonard, his roommate, who is very smart, but understand society norms and can actually interact with people. Then you got their friends, Raj, who is an Indian astro-physicist who can't talk when girls are around unless he's drunk and Howard who is a total Jewsih geek and lives with his mom, but acts like a player. Good guest appearance by Wh-il Wh-eaton. Catchy theme song.
Negatives: Only negative for the show is that from episode to episode its pretty much the same premis. But the dialogue is what keeps the show fresh.

I prefer to give shows a few viewings before rating and reviewing but I'll make an exception here since Big Bang Theory was so awful I couldn't bear to watch it again. One might think this show is for geeks but it's not; it's actually an affront to geek humor and mocks our culture. One of the least funny and poorly modern written shows I've seen. If you want to see geek humor done right, one has to watch 30 Rock or anything from Joss Whedon. (4/30/2010)
Positives: This show makes Two and Half Men look funny. Seriously, why don't people just program their TVs to skip CBS altogether?
Negatives: Some of the most annoying characters ever shown on screen.
