Depressing but well-done, Brothers tells the story of what happens when Tobey Maguire, left for dead in Afghanistan, comes home to find out his wife (Natalie Portman) has moved on to his ex-con brother, Jake Gyllenhaal. Tobey's got some serious post-traumatic stress disorder after his experience in a terrorist camp and begins to lose his grip shortly after returning to his family.

I had some issues with character development (mostly Gyllenhaal) but overall this is a pretty strong story that I could see happening in real life. I bump it up a half star for Tobey's performance alone, which made me uncomfortable. (5/7/2010)
