Marco Pierre White, one of the world's greatest chefs (3 michelin stars) and the man who made Gordon Ramsay cry, takes a stab at a restaurant reality show called the Chopping Block. Taken off the air (NBC) after 3 episodes due to poor ratings, the rest can be seen online. Basically, 2 teams / 2 restaurants compete with each other. At the end of dinner service, a critic decides which team wins, and 1 couple is 'sacked' from the losing team. Marco played his character to the tee. He could have been tougher on the contestants, but the critics compensated for that. I would have liked to see the producers throw in a few wrenches too. The major flaw of the show was the lack of depth from the contestants. No one to really hate and no one to really cheer for. The ending was a pleasant surprise. (5/4/2009)
