Crazy Heart

Whiskey-bent and hellbound, Jeff Bridges lays down The Trees and picks up the McClures with his National League portrayal of The Dude, Bad Blake. When you're talking about the senior circuits elixir, you're going to have a much less fun loving and hilarious movie going experience compared with Lebowski, but Crazy Heart's abundant soul make up for that with it's own dramatic quality. Positives: Great soundtrack and cameos.
Negatives: Probably wouldn't stand up that well on repeat viewings.

Gritty story of a country star nearing the end of his career as he deals with his protege becoming a huge success and a new love who causes him to re-examine his alcholism. Slightly dry, but Jeff Bridges is terrific and the music is top notch (this coming from a country music hater). Worth your time for Bridges alone. (6/29/2010)
