Liked the original a lot, not so much with the sequel. I give it credit for picking up where the first one left off and maintaining the tone and dreariness of the original. However, like most horror sequels, this is basically a retread and comes off as inferior in every aspect. As it turns out, there's not much more you can say about underground caves and creepy humanoid/batpeople. The scares are too similar to the original, so therefore inferior. The only thing they seem to have increased was the gore, as there were a few scenes where I was left a little queasy. One scene involving two people connected by handcuffs, and one going off a cliff, was brutal. Probably an easy skip. (6/25/2010)
