It's hard to know what to make of this film. Drive follows stuntman Ryan Gosling, who moonlights as a getaway driver. While I expected a run of the mill action-crime flick, it devolves (or evolves depending on your perspective) into a gruesome violent revenge film. We are talking extreme gratuitous violence here. Honestly, I would have been happier with less of that and more driving. Given that, I still enjoyed Drive because Gosling was great; he proved he can carry an action movie. The cast featured lots of big names. Some hit (Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks), some miss (Ron Perlman), and some are invisible (Christina Hendricks). (4/1/2012)

Loved this slightly off the beaten path action/thriller, that's as full of violence & car chases as it is quiet moments with a nearly mute Ryan Gosling. The moody 80s backdrop/soundtrack sets a terrific tone for the story, featuring Gosling's stuntman/getaway driver, crime bosses Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman, and a smaller but solid role for Brian (Breaking Bad) Cranston. Excellent drama & tension throughout. If you're hoping for the Fast & Furious type flick some people seemed to expect from the trailers, walk away. (6/12/2012)

This was the most boring movie I've ever seen. Nothing happens for like 90% of the movie. (6/13/2012)
