Yup, just watching this for the first time. Apparently it's a classic. As expected, it has Tim Burton's crew...Depp, Ryder, Danny Elfman music. I found the movie actually kind of bright for a Tim Burton movie. There weren't any really dull moments, but there really wasn't anything that wowed me. Just a decent, entertaining movie. (5/21/2010)
Positives: I liked the fact that he chose to have the movie take place in the 70's. Nice contrast. Depp was ok, but he really only had like 15 lines. His awkwardness was amusing though.
Negatives: Didn't really care for Ryder. I couldn't buy her falling in love with Ed. Not that someone couldn't love someone who had scissors for hands, but I just didn't buy her feelings towards him. And Anthony Michael Hall as a tough guy? Nope, wasn't buying that either.
