I tend to miss big comedies on the big screen because, unlike big action films, I don't think of them as "MUST SEE ON THE BIG SCREEN". I have to rethink that philosophy because you can't underestimate the effect of other people laughing. If you find something even remotely funny, you're more likely to catch the infectious laughter bug. The Hangover is no exception. It's a very funny buddy flick with an interesting story, good characters, and a few hilarious gags. Bradley Cooper does a fine job leading the cast and is perfectly cast as the carefree Alpha male of the group. Zach Galifianakis offers up a gem of a performance as the groom-to-be's future brother in law. I'd never seen the guy before and his acting was 100% natural. You rarely see a character like his for whom the camera does not exist. Ed Helms basically played his Office character and didn't do much to elevate the film. The plot devices used were fairly interesting even when they bordered on outlandish. While it started slowly, the laughs really began to roll after the first half hour. (7/14/2009)

I’ve gotta say, after the rave reviews from peers (“best comedy ever!” type stuff) I was really a little let down by this one. It’s definitely an above average comedy, with a few standout scenes, but it’s not going to jump into the upper echelon of superior funny films for me. No need to get into the plot here, but I liked bearded guy and Andy from The Office, and I thought Bradley Cooper was pretty good at holding it together as sort of the “lead” here. Worth your time, with plenty of chuckles and maybe a laugh out loud or two. Solid. (2/18/2010)

It's definitely a funny movie, but I personally don't think it ranks up there with dumb and dumber, Austin powers, ace Ventura, billy Madison, happy gilmore, etc. (yup I just listed my top 5 favorite comedies). (6/9/2010)
Positives: Zack g. pretty much makes the movie what it is. I feel that they also benefitted from Andy basically playing the same character from the office. It felt like we already knew him. I really enjoyed the way the story unfolded. It reminds me of those mornings after the 5a parties were we're all remembering different events that took place the night before and trying to make sense of it all.
Negatives: Not enough memorable lines to make it a certified "Button Classic Comedy" also known as a BCC. (some people put the certified after button and call it a B-triple C, but that is incorrect and usually only accepted in the lower states)
Spoiler (highlight to read): I don't understand why Sr. Chang was naked in the trunk... (end)
