Rescue Dawn stars Christian Bale as a American pilot whose plane goes down over Vietnam. I think of this film as a period piece...not because it takes place in the 1960s but because it looks like it was filmed in 1980. I believe they took a few episodes of MacGyver and spliced in footage of Bale. I was amazed at how incredibly bad this film looked and how bad every aspect was - acting, casting, lighting, camera work, action, etc. A first for me was watching the movie at 3x speed with subtitles on while I worked out. After a miserable half hour, I read the movie spoilers and decided which parts of the film I wanted to see. Turns out, the only scene worth seeing was the end credits. (3/3/2010)
